By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

1. Introduce themselves confidently in English.

2. Share basic personal information, such as name, age, and hobbies.

3. Use appropriate greetings and polite language.

MATERIALS:

·         Visual aids (e.g., images of people introducing themselves)

·         Whiteboard and markers or a chalkboard and chalk

·         Index cards with prompts for self-introductions (optional)

ACTIVITIES:

1. Introduction (5 minutes):

   - Begin by explaining that today's lesson is about introducing oneself in English.

   - Discuss the importance of knowing how to introduce oneself politely.

 

2. Greetings (5 minutes):

   - Teach common greetings in English, such as "Hello," "Hi," and "How are you?"

   - Explain the meaning and appropriate times to use these greetings.

 

3. Self Introduction (15 minutes):

   - Model a self-introduction by introducing yourself in English.

   - Include your name, age, where you're from, and a hobby or something you like.

   - Write key phrases on the board for reference (e.g., "My name is [Your Name]. I am [age] years old. I like [hobby].")

 

4. Interactive Activity (10 minutes):

   - Divide the students into pairs or small groups.

   - Provide index cards with prompts for self-introductions (e.g., "Name: ______, Age: ______, Hobby: ______").

   - Have students take turns introducing themselves to their partners using the prompts.

 

5. Group Sharing (5 minutes):

   - Invite a few students to share their self-introductions with the whole class.

   - Provide feedback and encourage classmates to ask questions or provide positive comments.

 

6. Polite Language (5 minutes):

   - Teach students to use polite language when introducing themselves, such as saying "please" and "thank you."

   - Discuss the importance of being respectful and polite
