MATERIALS:
- Visual aids (e.g., counting objects, number cards)
- Whiteboard and markers or a chalkboard and chalk
ACTIVITIES:
1. Introduction (5 minutes):
- Begin by asking
students if they know what counting is. Encourage them to share their thoughts.
- Explain that
counting is a way of knowing how many things there are, and today they will
learn how to count from 1 to 10.
2. Counting Objects (10 minutes):
- Display visual
aids with objects like apples, pencils, or toys.
- Ask students to
count the objects aloud, starting with 1 and going up to 10.
- Encourage them to
use their fingers to point to each object as they count.
3. Interactive Activity (5 minutes):
- Engage students
in a hands-on counting exercise. Provide a collection of small objects (e.g.,
buttons) and ask students to count a specific number of objects from the
collection.
4. Number Cards (5 minutes):
- Show number cards
with digits from 1 to 10.
- Ask students to
repeat the numbers after you and recognize them visually.
5. Writing Numbers (5 minutes):
- Write the numbers
1 to 10 on the whiteboard or chalkboard.
- Invite students
to come to the board one by one and trace the numbers.
6. Everyday Counting (5 minutes):
- Discuss
situations in which we use counting in our daily lives, such as counting the
number of friends, counting fingers and toes, or counting the days in a week.
Assessment:
- Assess students' ability to count objects from 1 to 10
during the interactive counting activities.
