2. Add two or more single-digit numbers accurately.

3. Solve simple addition problems.

MATERIALS:

o   Whiteboard and markers or a chalkboard and chalk

o   Number cards (0-9)

o   Visual aids (e.g., images of objects to count)

o   Worksheets with addition problems (optional)

ACTIVITIES:

1. Introduction (5 minutes):

   - Begin by explaining that today's lesson is about "Addition," which is a way of combining numbers to find a total.

   - Ask students if they have heard about addition before and if they can give examples.

 

2. Number Cards (5 minutes):

   - Show number cards with digits from 0 to 9 to the class.

   - Ask students to identify and repeat the numbers after you.

 

3. Basic Addition (10 minutes):

   - Use the whiteboard or chalkboard to demonstrate basic addition with single-digit numbers (e.g., 2 + 3).

   - Explain the concept of adding numbers to find the sum.

 

4. Interactive Activity (10 minutes):

   - Engage students in a hands-on activity. Provide visual aids with objects (e.g., apples, pencils) and create addition problems (e.g., 3 + 4).

   - Ask students to use the objects to solve the addition problems by physically counting them.

 

5. Group Practice (5 minutes):

   - Divide the students into small groups.

   - Provide each group with a set of number cards and ask them to create and solve their own addition problems.

  

6. Discussion (3 minutes):

   - Have each group share one addition problem they created and solved with the class.

   - Discuss the solutions together.

 

7. Worksheet (5 minutes):

   - If available, distribute worksheets with simple addition problems for individual practice.

   - Monitor students as they work on the worksheets.
